Torun

Toruń is approx. 200 kms north west of Warsaw and 40 kms from Bydgoszcz. It's a beautiful city and the birthplace of Nicolas Copernicus and for those 2 main reasons is a very well visited city by tourists in Poland. September 1999 saw the opening of the first Real hypermarket anchored shopping centre called C.H. Kometa. End 2005, saw the opening of the biggest shopping centre in Toruń, by Meinl (previously TK Development) called Galeria Copernicus, which is situated to the east of the city centre on the main road to Warsaw. With the Carrefour Bielawy already open, it's the Galeria Copernicus centre that is closer to the city centre and dominates the retail offer in Toruń. Other projects planned for the city are with Plaza Centers to open 4th quarter 2011 and Galeria Solaris Center, by the Irlandzka Grupa Inwestycyjna, planned for the 2nd quarter 2012.
