- Częstochowa is the religious and spiritual capital of Poland, where every year some 5 million pilgrims head towards the Jasna Góra convert to view the “miraculous picture of the Black Madonna”. It s located in the south of Poland, some 70 kms from Katowice. Częstochowa with an approx. population of 244 000 is only second to Katowice in the Silesia region. The development of shopping centres in this area has been slow, with the first 3 shopping centres being:- Metro's M1, Tesco and Auchan on the outskirts of Częstochowa. For this reason retailers that decide to open in Częstochowa can also consider the main high street, al. Najswietszej Maryi Panny (N.M.P.). Galeria Jurajska, is the largest shopping centre. The newest development is called Galeria Częstochowa, which will actually be on the al. N.M.P. high street.
