  • Located south of Austria, Graz is the capital city of the Steiermark region. It is also an important touristic and university hub. Although there are two regional shopping centres located in the southern outskirts of the city, "Shopping Center West" (anchored by Ikea) and the most recent "Shopping City Seiersberg" (more than 100 stores, including Media Markt, Hettlage, C&A, Merkur), the commercial centre of the city (which is located in the "old city", mainly on the right bank of the right bank of the Mur river) remains very busy, thanks to the attractivness of its old buildings and its pedestrian status. Herrengasse and Hauptplatz remain the most sought after locations. But this situation could change with the opening of the 55.000 sqm Stadtgalerie project. Population conurbation : 357548 inhabitants.

Zwei regionale Einkaufszentren liegen in den südlichen Aussenbereichen, das „Shopping Center West“ (mit Ikea als Anker) und das neueste Center „Shopping City Seiersberg“ (mit über 100 Geschäften bspw. MediaMarkt, Hettlage, C&A, Merkur). Trotzdem bleibt der Einzelhandelsschwerpunkt der Stadt, der in der Altstadt ist, hauptsächlich rechter Hand der Mur, dank der historischen Gebäude und seinem Status als Fussgängerzone, sehr gut besucht. Die Herrengasse und der Hauptplatz bleiben die gefragtesten Zonen. Bevölkerung: 357548 Einwohner
