Nottingham

Nottingham is the capital of the East Midlands The city conurbation has a catchment population of 750,000, but the city centre regularly attracts 2 million shoppers and is ranked in the top five retail centres in the country. Nottingham has a polarised retail centre with the prime shopping areas considered to be the ground floor of the Victoria Centre in the north, Clumber Street in the centre and the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre in the south. This latter scheme is to undergo major redevelopment with a project to triple its surface to reach 1,1 M sqfand there will therefore be a significant level of disruption at this end of the town. The Victoria Centre is the principal shopping centre in the city, totalling 1 M sqft with plans to develop this further by 500,000 sqft. Bridlesmithgate is the area for leading fashion brands. Flying Horse Walk and Exchange Arcade are also home to quality clothing, furnishing and art retailers.
