  • The Hanse city of Hamburg is developing at a fast rate. This will render the city even more attractive, the surrounding districts like Harburg also becoming more important due to new SC projects. A noticeable feature is the strong distribution of retailing throughout the entire city area. The axis with the highest purchasing power along Mönckebergstrasse/Spitalerstrasse is followed by the up-market section along the Jungfernstieg, the "luxury" area of Neuer Wall with the adjacent trendy Poststrasse/Gänsemarkt area. In this area there are a large number of smaller shopping galleries, passages and the Hanseviertel. New developments are to be found near the Alster lake with the Europapassage (tcompleted in 2006), situated between the Inner Alster and Mö behind Bergstrasse), the Colonnaden with the old "new" Gänsemarktpassage, the Hafencity (harbour area) and the centres of certain city districts. The north of Hamburg is dominated by the Alstertal SC.
Eppendorf, Wandsbek, Harburg. Im Norden Hamburgs dominiert das Alstertal-Shoppingcenter.
