Aix en Provence

Despite a population in excess of 130,000, the city of Aix en Provence is now considered by INSEE statistics to be part of the Marseilles conurbation. However, Aix en Provence, a university town, has a dense commercial framework which has not been harmed by any exodus of business towards the greater metropolis. "Les Allées Provencales”shopping centre reinforced the city centre with the arrival of new anchors like Monoprix or Zara. The commercial network on the periphery of the city is dominated by the Pioline shopping centre (better known as Aix les Mille) and the Avant Cap site, which adjoins the Plan de Campagne hub.
Malgré sa population de plus de 130 000 habitants, la ville d'Aix en Provence est désormais considérée, dans les statistiques INSEE, comme partie intégrante de l'agglomération marseillaise. Cependant, Aix en Provence, ville universitaire, dispose d'un tissu commercial dense, qui résiste aux risques d'évasion vers la cité phocéenne. "Les Allées Provencales" l'ont renforcé avec l'implantation de nouvelles locomotives comme Monoprix ou Zara. L'offre périphérique est dominée par le C.C. LA Pioline (plus connu sous le nom d'Aix les Mille) et le site Avant Cap, qui jouxte le pôle de Plan de Campagne.
