The conurbation accommodates the Cap 3000 and Nice Etoile shopping centres, which are among France''s best. The opening of a H & M unit on Avenue Jean Médecin has helped to strengthen the avenue''s dominant position in Nice''s commercial landscape, which already accommodates the Nice Etoile shopping centre at its centre. The extension of Terminal 2 of Nice-Côte d''Azur airport in 2002 has increased the airport''s capacity.
L’environnement commercial de l’agglomération de NICE/CANNES est très stable et florissant, grâce d’une part, au pouvoir d’achat de la population locale mais aussi à la masse représentée par le flot de touristes qui visitent la Riviera (environ 9.8 millions de visiteurs en 2000). L’agglomération accueille les centres commerciaux CAP 3000 et NICE ETOILE, qui comptent parmi les meilleurs centres commerciaux français. L’ouverture de H & M sur l’avenue Jean Médecin a contribué au renforcement de la position dominante de cette avenue dans le paysage commercial niçois qui accueillait déjà en son cœur le centre commercial NICE ETOILE. L’extension du Terminal 2 de l’aéroport de NICE CÔTE D’AZUR en 2002 a renforcé la capacité de ce dernier.
