Victoriehof is located in the historic and commercial centre of Turnhout, a prosperous city in northern Belgium with over 80.000 people living within a 15-minute drive. The mixed-used project includes retail, residential and car park development. Victoriehof comprises 26 shops varying from 70 to 1,600 sq m that will extend the commercial high street with new, trendy shops which will offer a large variety of goods around cosy squares in a green and traffic free environment. Public underground parking is foreseen for 378 cars. Furthermore, 53 apartments will overlook a peaceful public park of 1,200 sq m bringing quietness and tranquility. The warm and friendly nature of Victoriehof is also reflected in the design and materials used. Sustainable materials such as brick, bluestone and zinc create a bright and open architecture. The architects, DDS & Partners Architects, aim for a subtle integration of the project into the existing structure of the city. In Victoriehof, living and shopping will be integrated harmoniously in the city centre.
