- Inaugurated in 2004, Avenida M40 was a scheme developed by Sonae (60%) and Grupo Eroski (40%) south of Madrid. In the recent years, it suffered from the openings of new competitors (Islazur, Plaza Nueva). It was declared insolvent in March 2010 and closed end August 2010. End 2012, it was acquired by the Venezuelian group Sambil for 17 M € and will be transformed (partly) into a fashion outlet. It will be anchored by a 3.920 sqm Simply hypermarket (Auchan group) and will accomodate some 175 shops, as well as a wind tunnel. It will be called "Sambil Outlet Madrid". Initially scheduled end 2013, the project is now scheduled to open in 2017.
