La Maquinista

A three storey regional shopping centre with open air areas in the San Andrès district, next to a major junction point "Nus de la Trinidad". Metrovacesa (which formerly owned 61,4%) bought in 2003 the 38,6 % originally owned by Gec Alstom. Metrovacesa sold it to Unibail-Rodamco in 2008 (along in Habaneras shopping centre) for 434 M Euros. Unibail sold 48,9% of it to GIC Real Estate in 2009. An extension of some 17.800 sqm (for some 11 stores) inaugurated Autumn 2010 permited the arrivals of new strong anchors like Fnac, Leroy Merlin (7.600 sqm), Hollister and Forever 21 (which closed its 3.000 sqm store in April 2014). In 2012, the offer in restaurants and cafés was updated. 16 new shops opened in 2015. Moreover a project of renovation/extension (35.000 sqm) is under study. La Maquinista welcomed 16,6 M visitors in 2015. End 2016, Euro Cervantes bought the GIC stake for 201,2 M€.
