Threy-storey shopping-center with urban-entertainment. Located between Essen and Mülheim, by the BAB 40, Rhein Ruhr Zentrum with 157 shops on 75000 sqm retail area is one of the biggest shopping centres in Germany. In 1998, it has been completed by the "Festival Garden" entertainment centre and in 1999 by the Young Fashion Mall (4000 sqm, 20 shops) anchored by Esprit. 2002 Opening of Karstadt Arkaden (after refurbishment of Karstadt Department and furniture store). The centre was extended by appr.45,000 sqm since 1992/93. In 2006, ECE and Merill Lynch bought it from Brune. Blackstone acquired the Merill Lynch stake in 2012.

In 2006, ECE und Meryll Lynch has es von Walter Brune gekauft. 2002 Eröffnung der Karstadt Arkaden (als Umbau des Karstadt Waren- u. Einrichtungshauses. Seit 1992/1993 wurde das Center um ca. 45.000qm erweitert.
