The three-level Limbecker Platz project developed by ECE takes place on the site already occupied by Karstadt. The department store was extended to reach 20.000 sqm and is completed by a 4.000 sqm Karstadt Sport unit, and a shopping arcade of some 200 shops. It represents 3 km of shop window front. Start of construction : April 2006. First phase of the shopping centre was inaugurated March 2008. Complete opening : October 2009. Investors : Union Investment (85%)/ECE group (15%) after Union Investment acquired the 25% stake from Karstadt Immobilien in 2011.
