When it opened in 1964, the Ruhr Park shopping centre accomodated 24.000 sqm of sales area. After several renovations/ expansions (the latest in 2001), it is by now the largest shopping centre in Germany. It is located by the A40 expressway between Dortmund and Essen, in the heart of the Ruhr region. A renovation of the "Süd Mall" was inaugurated end 2015. Infact, its sales surface was reduced from 71.500 sqm to 69.700 sqm and acoomodates new anchors like Forever 21 or Pull & Bear. Owner : Axa Real Estate/Unibail Rodamco.
