Although it is located in the heart of town, the "Centre Halles" became gradually a commercial wasteland. Apsys has been given by the City of Angers the mission to restructurate this commercial equipment. Its total reopening took place in may 2005. H&M (1.500 sqm, which opened its doors in April), Monoprix (2.563 sqm of sales area) and Planète Saturn (2800 sqm) are its main anchors. Following the closing of Go Sport in 2007, Planet Saturn expanded to reach 4.000 sqm and Esprit store was created while Hippopotamus replaced Taverne de Maitre Kanter. In 2012, closing of Saturn (after Boulanger bought the retail chain).
