Kärntnerstrasse

Linking Karlplatz to Stephanplatz, the pedestrian section of Kärtnerstrasse (between Walfischgasse and Stephanplatz) is one of the busiest streets of Vienna. Here are concentrated major international retail chains (H&M Zara, Mango, Benetton, Tally Weijl... as well as high-end brands (directly like Hugo Boss or in multi-branded fashion stores), and the main local retail chains (Wolford, Humanic...). This fashion offer is completed by numerous jewelleries as well as "souvenir" shops and The Casino Wien aiming the numerous tourists going to Stefan Platz. Its non-pedestrian section, particulary between the Ring and Karlplatz is far less attractive. Since 2011, Kärtnerstrasse accomodates two new anchors : a Peek & Cloppenburg "Weltstadthaus" and Forever 21. 2014 saw the opening of Desigual on 336 sqm. In 2018, Apple opened its first Austrian store (ex H&M, then Esprit).
