Rua Augusta

This pedestrian street is historically Lisbon's main shopping street, beginning at Rossio Square. It is very much frequented by local clients and tourists and has a mix of international mass-market fashion stores (Zara, H&M, Tezenis.... and more recently Bata... ) among a large number of traditional stores. However, the street's lack of mobility is regrettable, as it is penalized by stores belonging to independent traders with an old-fashioned vision of retailing (particularly as regards opening hours).
