- Rynek Staromiejski is a square around the the old city council building (Ratusz), which is very well visited by tourists. As the Ratusz also provides a viewing point of the whole city centre of Toruń and the statue of M. Kopernika as a meeting point for the locals and tourists of Toruń. The retailing around is a mix of middle range retailing with lots of restaurants, cafes and the usual tourist retailing. The southern section has the highest foot traffic with the eastern and northern section next and the western with very little to offer. The retail mix hasn't changed much since the end of 2004. In 2008 two new banks and a new restaurant.
