- A new urban district designed for mixed residential, commercial, leisure, retail and cultural use is being created on a 155-hectare area. The master plan approved by the Hamburger Senate in Feb.2000 calls for the construction of a total gross floor of 1.6 M sqm including 5,500 residential units for 12,000 people and service areas capable of providing more than 20,000 workplaces, plus restaurants, retail, and leisure facilities, parks and open spaces. The scheme is only a few minutes´walk from Hamburg´s City Hall and main railway station. It is right next to the exiting city centre and will enlarge the size of it by around 40%. The project is divided into 14 sub-projects. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield will develop a 85.000 sqm shopping centre (opening scheduled in 2021).
- Auf einer Fläche von 155 Hektar entsteht ein neues städtisches Quartier mit einer gemiscten Nutzung aus Wohnen, Gewerbe, Freizeit, Einzelhandel und Kultur. Nach dem im Februar 2000 vom Senat beschlossenen Masterplan werden insgesamt 1,6 Mio. BGF gebaut. Damit sollen 5.500 Wohnungen für 12.000 Einwohner, Dienstleistungsflächen für mehr als 20.000 Arbeitsplätze sowie Gastronomie, Einzelhandel, Freizeiteinrichtungen, Parks und Freiflächen entstehen. Die Überseequartier ist zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten vom Hamburger Rathaus und vom Hauptbahnhof zu erreichen. Sie schließt sich unmiitelbar an die heutige Innenstadt an und wird diese um rund 40 Prozent erweitern.
