- Canary Wharf is situated to the east of London, and is easily accessible via the Docklands railway, and the Jubilee line underground station. The shopping centre sits below the many office buildings of the site. It offers a large choice of restaurants and cafés (some of them overlooking the river) to meet the needs of the employees working in the vicinity. The retail provision at Canary Wharf comprises three retail malls – Canada Place, Cabot Place and Jubilee Place. The retailers located here are a combination of high street and designer fashion. The Jubilee Place extension (4.087 sqm) added 21 new shops in November 2013 (including Banana Republic, COS...). A new 10.700 sqm building above the new Crossrail station was completed in May 2015. In 2018, it will house the new Canary Wharf crossrail station. January 2015, Qatar Investment Authority and Brookfield Property Partners bought Songbird Estates, owner of Canary Wharf, for 2,6 B £.
