  • This is the principal retail pitch in Glasgow, running on a north south axis between Sauchiehall Street at the northern end and Argyle Street to the south. It is fully pedestrianised and is anchored at each end of the street by Frasers Department store (South) and Buchanan Galleries (north). More upmarket fashion retailers tend to locate around Royal Exchange Square and Princes Square shopping centre, which are situated in the middle of the pitch. According to Cushman & Wakefield, Buchanan Street is now one of the top ten most expensive retail destinations in the UK. Land Securities redeveloped the n°185-217 block known as "Atlas site" as an "extension" of Buchanan Galleries and where Forever 21 occupied 5.860 sqm on 3 levels before closing in 2016. H&M is said to take over the store. Office, Skechers and Watches of Switzerland are some of the other tenants of "Buchanan Quarter" (inaugurated March 2013).
