- Strategically positioned at the confluence of Buchanan Street and Sauchiehall Street and with over 600,000 sq ft of shopping and food offers over 4 floors, Buchanan Galleries is Glasgow's main shopping centre. It attracts 400,000 shoppers a week. Investors : TIAA Henderson/Land Securities (50%/50%). In 2014, Land Securities took full contract of Buchanan Galleries by acquiring the TIAA Henderson stake for 137,5 M £. End 2009, Land Securities acquired the 4.980 sqm plot located just opposite to the Galleries with 60 meters of frontage on Buchanan Street for some 10 M € from Atlas Investments. Forever 21 occupied there some 5.800 sqm on 3 levels since 2016. Gap, Paperchase, Fat Face, are some of the other tenants. This development called Buchanan Quarter opened March 22nd 2013. A major expansion plan (55.000 sqm) has been submited (including a 13.935 sqm M&S, a 10-screen cinema and 15 restaurants) on the site currently occupied by the car park. Opening scheduled in 2019.
