- The largest glass structure in Europe, the St Enoch Centre is situated at the southern end of Buchanan Street, with its principal entrance on Argyle Street. The scheme has a wide variety of stores, with a mainly fashion bias and has a large play area within the centre, giving it a 'family friendly' reputation. Mills Corp sold the centre in 2006 as a package with Vaughan Mills, St. Enoch Centre and Madrid Xanadu to Ivanhoe Cambridge Inc. for about $981 million. It was recently renovated and extended to accomodate 40 new stores (including H&M and Hamleys) First phase of the redevelopment opened in November 2009, second phase in May 2010. Blackstone and Sovereign Land acquired it in 2013 for about 190 M £ from Ivanhoé Cambridge. A 8.360 leisure redevelopment for the creation of a 9-screen cinema, about 9 restaurant and about 3.250 sqm of retail on the area formerly occupied by Bhs received planning consent end 2016.
