- The Broadmarsh Shopping Centre (now called Intu Broadmarsh) holds some 90 stores on two levels. In 2006, a redevelopment plan was approved, which involves the demolition of much of the centre, the car park, and the adjoining bus terminus. The main retailers in the shopping centre are Argos, Bhs, Boots, Wilkinson. H&M is located just opposite the shopping centre. The extension due to be completed in 2015 will more than triple its surface to reach 1,1M sqf (102.195 sqm). It will include two new department stores, a supermarket, a 1.200-seat food-court and a food hall. The centre will then accomodate more than 220 shops. In November 2011, Westfield sold its 75% stake to CSC-Intu for 55 M £. A couple of weeks later CSC-Intu bought the remaining 25% stake from Possfund Custodian Trustee for 18,3 M £. Intu Victoria Centre is to be refurbished before the beginning of the extension of Intu Broadmarsh (authorized in June 2015).
