Neumarkt

The Neumarkt links Schildergasse and the Neumarktgalerie with the Mittelstrasse/Ehrenstrasse district of the old city. Here the anchors are the Kreisparkasse savings bank, the Neumarktgalerie with the Mayersche book-shop and Habitat. The conspicuous façade attracts attention. The Neumarkt is the centre of local traffic. It offers plenty of parking with multi-storey car-parks in the vicinity and forms the focal point of the Christmas markets in Cologne. It is also a major events area with concerts and sporting events several times a year.
