- With a catchment area representing the third largest retail market in the north west of England, The Grosvenor Centre (called The Mall during several years until Westfield sold it to Bride Hall and the Carlyle Group in 2009) attracts a wide range of national retailers. Anchor stores include Debenhams, H&M, River Island, Topshop. A planning permission application for an extra 10.000 sqm has since been withdrawn with no immediate plans to re-apply. However an extension was completed in 2015 to accomodate a 2.135 sqm TK Maxx and an extension of Sports Direct (on 1.530 sqm).In May 2015, HIG Capital acquire the shopping centre for about 65 M £.
