- Located in the heart of East End, Spitalfields used to be a covered market which moved in Leyton in 1991. Its former location underwent a regeneration programme, which resulted in the creation of two new public spaces, Bishops Square and Crispin Place, the restoration of several historic streets around it and the arrival of trendy retailers and restaurants. Spitalfields combines the new with the old with brands like Canteen and Benefit behind large glass fronted stores sitting next to sole traders selling quirky clothes from their market stalls. Old Spitalfields Market is a thriving 170 stall covered market off Brushfield street located in Crispin Place and Brick Lane is famous for its many Bangladeshi restaurants.
