It is anchored by Bhs, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Marks & Spenceras well as an 11-screen Odeon cinema. Most of the fashion heavyweights are also present. It was first remodelled and extended in 2004 (after Asda left for a larger unit in the retail park). A part of the shopping centre was recently remodelled to accomodate Autumn 2009 a bowling and a family entertainment centre at the lower level and the (transfered) multiplex cinema with 17 screens and an Imax screen and restaurants at the upper level. MetroCentre is completed by the Metro retail park and Ikea (see Metro Retail Park) which was purchased by the MetroCentre Partnership for £82.5 M in 1987. Latest development : MetrOasis, 5 units for restaurants between the centre and the retail park. Owners : Intu (50%)/Church Commissioners (10%)/GIC Real Estate (40%).
