In April 2009, British Land sold it to LaSalle Investment Management for 101 M €. In September 2013, it was acquired by the Crown Estate for 131 M £. In 2015, North Tyneside Council authorized to convert the former hotel into 4 stores (9.850 sqm), including a 4.830 sqm Next Home & Garden store. Completion scheduled Autumn 2016.
