- The Wien Mitte train station is the historic centre's nearest train station. It accomodates the City Airport line and is directly connected to two underground lines and several tram and bus lines. 150.000 people use it every day. It has been redeveloped to accomodate some 30.000 sqm of retail area on three levels making it the largest shopping centre downtown Wien. Main anchors are a 4.000 sqm Media Markt store and a 2.900 sqm Spar supermarket. Developers : ÖBB for the train station, BAI (Bauträger Austria Immobilien) and Bank Austria for the buildings above the train station. Opening of the first phase : November 8th 2012. Complete opening : April 25th 2013. In 2015, UniCredt Austria sold The Mall to Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing.
