New Mersey Leasure

Project of leisure scheme situated close the New Mersey retail park on a 6 hectare plot (14.8 acres) currently used by Ford. It will include a 7-screen cinema (3.470 sqm), 18 restaurants and shops and a 78-bed hotel. Phase 2 will comprise 2 other hotels and 3 shops. The project developed by Benmore was authorized by Liverpool City Council in January 2012, but as located in an industrial zone, it has yet to be approved by national authorities. Ford and Peel Holdings are opposed to the project as it will block the development of their own activities nearby.
