Located beside the north-western ring-road and accessible via metro line 2, the Carrefour Lomme shopping centre is composed of a Carrefour hypermarket, two medium-sized stores, H&M (which replaced the Eris self-service restaurant) and a 25-unit shopping arcade. It benefits from the attraction of Ikea (recently remodeled and expanded), which overlooks the car-park, and from the proximity of the "Kinepolis" multiplex (23 screens). Its nearest competitor is the Englos les Géants shopping centre. An extension of 1.500 sqm of the hypermarket has been authorized end 2005. Sopic has developed a retail area (9.500 sqm next to the cinema multiplex) which accomodates the largest Intersport store (3.500 sqm) and Picwic (4.000 sqm) opened in September 2006. The space freed by Planet Saturn (3.700 sqm) was remodeled to accomodate 9 new stores (including a 800 sqm Armand Thiery store) inaugurated in May 2009.
