Located to the north of Madrid (in El Pilar district), the three-storey "La Vaguada" shopping centre (also known as Madrid 2) is considered as one of the best ones in Spain. The public areas have been renovated in 2003. Rodamco owns some 20.000 sqm. In 2011, El Corte Inglès acquired the 19.263 sqm they occupy (21%) from Realia for 50 M € (the transaction also included 630 parking units).
