With an anchor (Carrefour) considered as the town centre hypermarket, the Beaulieu centre is very favourably located and has a very attractive shopping arcade, the most "up-market" in the conurbation : Grand Optical, Catimini, Orcanta, etc. However Virgin closed its store mid 2006. The insufficient number of parking spaces has became a recurrent problem on the busiest days, penalizing this centre compared to the latest openings and renovations. However, the granting of a long-awaited authorization to extend the shopping arcade (5.900 sqm of sales area, 21 shops including 3 medium-sized stores) and the hypermarket (1.900 sqm ) opened March 2008 with new anchors like H&M, Armand Thiery, Benetton, Caroll, Nature & Decouvertes as well as the first Besteller store in France on 900 sqm) will give the site a new dynamism. The parking lot was also extended (to reach 2.150 parking places).
Avec une locomotive considérée comme l'hypermarché du centre ville, le centre BEAULIEU dispose d'une situation très privilégiée avec une galerie commerciale très attractive, la plus haut de gamme de l'agglomération : GRAND OPTICAL, CATIMINI, ORCANTA...(A noter : le départ de Virgin mi 2006). Le nombre de places de parking insuffisant était devenu un problème récurrent lors des jours de forte affluence et pénalisait ce centre par rapport aux dernières ouvertures et rénovations. Toutefois, l'obtention d'une CDEC, longtemps attendue, pour une extension de la galerie et de l'hypermarché (5.900 m2, dont 3 moyennes surfaces, et 1.900 m2 respectivement) inaugurée en mars 2008 avec des nouvelles enseignes comme H&M, Armand Thiery, Benetton, Caroll, Nature & Découvertes (ainsi que le premier magasin Besteller en France sur 900m2) va apporter une vigueur nouvelle au site. Le parking a lui aussi été agrandi (pour atteindre 2.150 places).
