Inaugurated in 1971, the Carrefour Saran shopping centre is located to the north of the city, alongside the RN 20. It is part of the largest commercial hub in the conurbation. The shopping centre comprised the Carrefour hyperstore, its mezzanine-style cafeteria, and a small shopping arcade with some ten units. In the immediate vicinity, on both sides of the RN 20, there are stand-alone stores (see ZAC des Cents Arpents). Together, they form the most important peripheral hub in the Orléans conurbation, which recently took the name of "Cap Saran". The expansion of the shopping arcade (7.355 sqm GLA) opened October 2007 with magnets like H&M (1.140 sqm) and Sephora. Cardety (Carrefour group) is currently developing a 29.000 sqm retail park for about 34 shops to complete the shopping centre (see Cap Saran retail park)
Inauguré en 1971, le Centre Commercial Carrefour Saran est situé au nord de la ville, en bordure de la RN 20 . Il s'inscrit au sein de la plus importante zone d'activités de l'agglomération. Le Centre Commercial se composait de l'hypermarché Carrefour, de sa cafétéria (en mezzanine), et d'une petite galerie marchande d'une dizaine de cellules. Dans son environnement proche, de part et d'autre de la RN20, sont aussi implantés plusieurs enseignes (voir ZAC des Cents Arpents). Cet ensemble forme le pôle de périphérie le plus important de l'agglomération orléanaise, qui a pris le nom de "Cap Saran". L'extension de 7.355 m2 gla de la galerie marchande a ouvert en octobre 2007, avec des enseignes comme H&M (1.140 m2)et Sephora. Cardety (groupe Carrefour) développe actuellement un retail park de 29.000 m2 pour environ 34 magasins pour compléter le centre (voir Cap Saran retail park).
