A large urban redevelopment scheme on 6,9 ha in the north-east of the city centre including some 100.000 sqm of retail, 2 department stores (John Lewis on 24.000 sqm and M&S on 18.250 sqm), some 600 flats and 800 parking units. Developers : Hammerson and Town Centre Securities. Building permit awarded in 2007. The project was put on hold during the recession but was relaunched in March 2011 with new plans which got green light in Sept 2013. It will be developed in two phases. Main anchor is a 24.150 sqm John Lewis department store. Opening of 1st phase Autumn 2016.
