Gyle Shopping Centre

The Gyle shopping centre is located west of the city, between the City bypass and South Gyle, next to the M8 motorway. Originally, Gyle was a joint development between Edinburgh Council, Mark & Spencer & Safeway. In 1997, Marks & Spencer became the only owner and sold it back in 2000 to the Universities Superannuation Scheme for £186 million. William Ewart Properties acquired it in 2006 for 450 £million. Its main anchors are Marks & Spencer and Morrisons, as well as Next, River Island ...Gyle Shopping has planning consent for expansion (including a cinema).
